If you consult a blood pressure chart and find that you have hypertension, then you need to address it right away! High BP might lead to heart problems if left unchecked. So, practicing ways to lower it and bring it to a normal level is a smart move. Many health professionals advise people to exercise at least two to three times for thirty minutes or so every week. However, with many people rushing for time these days, this might not seem possible for some of them especially for those who have growing children.
If it is not possible to allocate this amount of time every week merely for exercising, do not worry. There are other alternatives. For example, park your car a longer distance from your office than before every morning. Then, take a brisk walk from your car to your office. Taking a brisk walk is a good form of exercise.

There are various ways to relieve stress these days. One good way is to sit quietly somewhere to concentrate on your breathing. It is not necessary to sit in any specific position, just sit comfortably somewhere for ten to fifteen minutes.
If your breathing is not rhythmic or steady, then, breathe in deeply and slowly. Hold your breath for 10 seconds. Then, breathe out quickly while counting to ten.
Try this cycle for a few times until your breathing becomes steady. Apart from exercising and focus on your breathing, eating fresh vegetables and fruits, which are high in potassium can also help to lower your BP.
Some examples of such vegetables and fruits are bananas, tomatoes, winter squash, oranges and spinach. Potassium is a mineral, which can counterbalance the negative effects of table salt or sodium chloride. A high content of sodium is one of the key reasons for high BP. Therefore, daily intake of foods, which are high in potassium, can help to lower a person’s BP.
To put it briefly, there are a number of great ways to reduce high blood pressure. One such way is to eat fresh vegetables and fruits like tomatoes, spinach, oranges and winter squash everyday. Another way is sit comfortably in silence for ten to fifteen minutes everyday. Carry out a simple breathing exercise for a more steady and rhythmic breathing. Exercising daily also helps to lower a person’s high BP. For example, taking a brisk walk from your car to your office rather than a slow walk is a form of exercise.
